How do I find out what type engine I have?? I heard there is like a XE, XK and something else. WHat is the difference. Also what kinda transmission do I have. IS there a model number??? I have a 1987 924S with a 5spd if that helps.

If you look on the passenger side under the hood there should be an aluminum tag with the car type beside that should be the XK XH you are looking for. |

Here is my VIN eturbo WP0AA0921HN455230 Tell me what you know The only problem is that when I got the car it had a blown motor. So I got a short block and used some parts from the blown one and some form the short block. So I dont know If I can tell. ANy way let me know everything the VIN will tell you.

XK, XG, etc is for the 2.0 liter version, if it's a '87 924S that you have, than the engine code should be M44/07, as it is the 2.5 liter engine from the 944.
Transmission code should be: 016J
