Hi All,
Do all 2.5 litre 924's whine like 'girlie cars'? Seems fine otherwise. Maybe I
need a decent rumbly exhaust/muffler is all.
Ciao now,

Well, the first problem is you have that 944 engine in your car... get a 2.0 and you won't have that problem :-)

The biggest thing you can do with the 944 engine is put a turbo muffler on the car along with a header and cam. This will give the sound a more grunty sound.

Hmmm... my 924S has quite a deep sound, and it has a stock exhaust too.

i noticed in the 924 its a low rumble from sitting in the car with a crappy exhaust, not as rumbley outside tho. 931 isn't as rumbley.

I wonder if its the heavy IRON head that makes low tones.

A kidding aside... the main things that will make a low rumbles in a 924S are the large cylinder displacements.

I second that. Mine also has a pretty deep sound (stock exhaust), for a 4 cyl. engine. I like to drive in an enclosed parking structure with the windows down and listen to the sound of the engine and the way the gears whine. I've never heard another car sound like that.
