Hey guys,

I was thinking while Kenodog has his engine out about head bolts,

a question I have is there any point in converting over to head studs w/ nuts for that extra clamping power, or are the head bolts strong enough?

TIA

The orginals are strong enough. When I redid the head gasket on the 931 that Alex Roy bought I put the orginals back in. That was years ago. If you have the need, Raceware studs will work.

I don't have an answer for this as of yet, but I have head bolts for my car, mostly because Iwill be running a copper head gasket. I do plan on sticking a bottle in mycar so I would imagine that the heads studs will defiantely be needed.
I would think since Kenodog is doing alot of turbo increases and other mods for his car. running the studs would be a great idea as well as maybe a copper head gasket. These are spendy items though.

Don't worry about me,the head is being o-ringed as I write this, and I bought new head studs from Porsche. With proper torquing these will last a while i'm sure.Besides it's not like i'm gonna be racing.Well maybe some ricers.

I was talken to a guy on the east coast about
boost on his turbo and he says once it spools up he flys
kind of. So how high of cp requires head studs for a
non turbo. Im still ok with my plans.
