well did a lot of work on the weekend.carbs wont fit!!!too much stuff still in the way.so lets get rid of the rest o the ac stuff.removed the condensor,(had to remove the lower chin spoiler and front bumper)

the hose from the condensor to the receiver dryer

the coolent pipe for the heater has got to go

get inside and remove the a/c fan, evaporator, assembly

4 bolts,2 hoses...and this was the easiest part to remove

cant get the 2 a/c hoses outa the car so out comes the dash

ok got back into the too fah on saturday....oh by the way dont be like me and just jump in without reading about what yer doin first seems to be a mechanic thing, after working on cars for 35 years you have this thing about you can repair anything even if you dont have the knowlage.so after searching and finally finding the dash removal info. on friday night,i found out saturday even if i got the dash out it wouldnt have helped so how can i get these a.c hoses out without cutting them?dont want to be a butcher and someone is gonna need this stuff!!wow one little nut and the center vent is pulled out!!wow anouther big retaining clamp(found out about this in the search and tech section)and the whole heater box is loose!!couple of heater hoses and this moves just out enough that i can snake one a.c hose out through the engine side and one into the pass.compartment!!! yes this has been a very good and humbling learning xperience for me wll enough of my yammering heres some pixs....oh ya some were wondering why i had a roll of duct tape on the front battery tray....well see ifin ya can guess why in the pics...remember we dont want dirt and or little greebly critters gettin in any where....so back to the show

oh man dont really want to pull the interiour apart to get this dash out!!!not yet anyway

one large wire clamp and down comes the heater box

ya the a/c hoses are up there somewhere

well the thinner hose is out and came out nicely through firewall aand into the engine compartment

just a wee bit closer shot

remove the rubber sealing rings to ade in removal of the hoses and we have the large dia.hose into the cockpit

just snake it through from behind the heater box and wahla the a/c hoses are out!!!!! Yay!!!!! guess what still need to remove more stuff around the engine carb still wont fit hey its all in fun or i wouldnt even bother

Have you got a plan to replace that coolant pipe? You know you can't run without it, right?

I have a small question for you when you take out the a/c condenser from behind the glove box did you just disconnect the hoses and then leave them disconnected or did you just cap them? thanks

Umm. Look at a couple posts above this one. It clearly states that he pulled the hoses out through the firewall, so he neither left them nor capped them -- he removed them.

never is an asked question bad nor make you an idiot.the only idiot is the one that doesnt ask.there tricky and it can be done.if you need more info on what to remove and what you do not have to remove.dont try and take out the dash it is not nessary nor is it helpful.pm me and i can guide you through that mess.
