sorry, guys..i meant a civic hatchback with a b16 swap..they are fast little cars. 112 pounds of tq at 7000 rpm.
i know that my porsches gear ratios are a little higher.. 1st gear is 3.6 something compared to 3.2 something for the civic.
from being a former honda boy, i know that these things with turbos have way more than 160 hp...try 200's or 300's. my friend justin has an '88 Honda Accord h/b like mine with more than 300 hp to the wheels...0-60 in 4's and top speed of 150+ don't underestimate these damn hondas...even though most are rice.

I wouldn't underestimate any car that is non-stock (ie: has been moddified). But I thought we were talking about stock vs. stock?

The torque in your car will help you get going when your just cruisin, for example your cruising at 3000 RPM for a kilometer and you decide to tromp on it...torque is needed. HP builds up and up and up and up with RPMS, Torque needs to be right there and is what gets your first big JOLT.
But honestly stop racing civics or any other cars on the street and find something better to do with your time. |

| actually, i'm not racing civics. i just know people that are really big fans of hondas and they told me that one guy is gonna get a civic with a b16 and run 14's and beat my Porsche. i said "i really doubt it bud" and that's what started the arguement. i could care less if there hondas, toyotas, etc are any faster than my car b/c i like my car and have fun with it and that's all that matters. but i would just like to hear some other opinions to back up my story. |

Found a roadtest (Road & Track) of a 99 Civic Si with the 160hp motor. Reads as follows:
0-60 = 7.4 sec
1/4 mile = 15.7 @ 90.4 mph
Top speed = 130 mph
Close race but again, the Civic is an economy car regardless of what all these riceboys think and the 924S is a purebred sports-car.
Porsche:There is no substitute!!! |

| that's a regular civic, not a hatchback...hatchbacks weigh like 200-300 pounds less. |

| But remember, the hatchback never had the 160hp engine in North America. Of course, if we're talking modified cars, how about a 924S with a 944 Turbo engine? That should make short work out of any Civic! |
