| I have been thinking about getting sponsorship for the 931 rally/autocross car. MY boss is interested in the car and other successful people I know are interested in it too. No one has mentioned interest in sponsorship but I think I could talk them into having their business logo on the outside of our car for a small fee. I'm sure its a tax writeoff for them too. Has anyone been sponsored and if so, what is the fine print? |

I had a few thoughts that may be helpful.I have very limited knowledge in this field so some or all of my ideas may not be useful, but that never stop me before .its seems to me ,it would probably be a good idea to ask your suppliers, they can provide you with the goods and services you need, they would have the options of providing cash, goods, services, discounts . try to use-ask suppliers in the city , county or region you'll be racing in,where possible.the majority of small bussiness customers are local and that is who THEY are trying to reach.the more people and companies you ask,the more likely you are to find what you are looking for. look for freebies, maybe contact your local high school , community colleges or technical schools, automotive and metal shop,autocad/design ,welding teachers and ask if there is any thing they can do to help you, disassemble your engine, custom brackets ? who knows maybe you'll get lucky and they will build you a custom roll cage. bussiness teachers (well written ,professional looking proposal letter for prospective sposors)you need a logo and letterhead ,trade your time, and skills for what you need. sponsors might complicate matters.detailed records,joint/team bank account,I dont know what might be required, maybe a good idea to talk to an attorney. |

| Thanks for the tips. I'll do whatever I can to keep lawyers away from our racing efforts! Those are good ideas for bartering goods and services and we will investigate as much as possible. |
