HI

I am having some difficulty setting these clearances to book spec.In particular, on the exhuast valves , at maximum adjustment my clearance is still very large - is it likely that I have very worn springs on the valve ?
The camshaft is a good condition second hand and the cam follower is new.

Thanks for any help

Ian

if you've just replaced the cam then it's not surprising that at least one adjusting screw will need to be replaced with a larger or smaller one (dealer parts). that's why there are different screws to begin with.

also, have you had the cam checked out? having shiny lobes and not having too much wear don't neccesarily coincide.

good luck,

Hi all
Thanks for the info, I did manage to reset the clearances after some judicious exchaning of adjustment screws - shame the car still won;t start though!!! (see long thread earlier on this problem!!)
