I have a 924S which is basicly a 944 with 2.5L. I've hear most of the engine swap trouble is created by incongruities with items like the master cylinder, brakes + suspension upgrades. But what is the problem puting an 3.0 or 2.7L S2 or 2.5L turbo in a 924S that already has a 944 motor and the M030 package so 5 lug 4 wheel disc is already taken care of. I've also heard somwhere that the 944 and 951 motors are almost the same minus the turbo parts and an oil cooler. is this true?

thanks,
performance is hard to find even on the 2.5L

the 944 951 and 968 all have the same motor mounts and tranny setups, the only real difference is the computer, and for the 951 some hacking for the addition of the IC,

then couldn't you cheaply salvage the turbo parts exaust, intake turbo and computer from a 951 and just swap those parts to a 944 to make a homebrew 951

if all that is the same why could the tranaxel from one of those be swaped too

I suggest you visit the Rennlist Forums or Pelican Parts forums and search the archives. This topic has been dealt with over (and over and over) again.
