Still, I have to hand it to the guy who, when I asked him whether he preferred the traditional to contemporary hunting equipment, said "Any real man who thinks he's a hunter should do like I do: Chase them down and wrestle them to the ground...naked."

Stark imagery but not really practical in the Great White North

I think the game wardens around would have a problem hunting naked, you should at least where a thong. When your running for your life from an enraged buck or a angry black bear the last thing I want is my nads leeping over blackberry bushes and barb wire fences.

I've heard of guys hunting with a throwing spear, what do they call them Atl Atl's. You know the short stick that has a pocket in the end in which you put your arrow nick into, you kinda of sling it.

Isn't that curious! I've just finished reading "Harlequin", the first of Cornwell's trilogy about English bowmen. As for myself, I couldn't bring myself to killing an ant, let alone a deer, these days. There's no shortage of bowhunters around my neck of the woods ,though.
I'm just west of Brighton, Ricko.

We seem to have got a little off track, but who cares, just some useless information for you.
Did you know it used to be compulsory in this country for all males to learn how to use a longbow.
Battle of Agincourt 1415 aprrox 5,000 english men lined up against 30,000 french, after half an hour 10,000 french were dead and 500 english, all because we knew how to use the longbow, it could kill a rider at 400 yards (non armoured) and puncture armour at closer ranges, at 9 arrows a minute.
History lesson over.
