Hey guys,
I just did some calculations on the different types of 924 transmissions, speed as a function of engine rpm - wheel size - gear ratios.
There are some interesting results, and if the calculations are right and the type 016Z is the one also known as the "snailshell", now I know why everyone likes them.
Would you check it and tell me if I made some mistake in it?

Hmm, so I couldn't get it right for first time, now it's fixed.

nevermind, i see you've already figured it out.
engine rpm/(gear ratio*axle ratio)= wheel rpm
wheel rpm*circumfrence of tire=ft/min
ft/min * 60/5280= miles/hour
example: numbers are just estimates of what i remember, in first gear at 6000 rpm
6000/14=428.571
428.571*6=2571.43
2571.43*60/5280=29.2208mph

The turbo snailshell is the only tranny that makes the 931 look fast on paper, since it goes to 60 with the old rev limiter in second.... |

I hate to break your heart, but Jon did this a while ago in a spreadsheet:
http://www.924.org/Downloads/Downloads.htm
It's the one labeled tranny ratios...

No problem, a few minutes ago I've even found it on my HDD saved from the site
So, before I start doing something I should check:
1: http://www.924.org
2: my own computer
3: the entire internet (I've found quite a few sites with rpm/speed calculators, of course only after I've done mine)
Anyway, I'm just learning this automotive stuff, and a little excerise will not hurt... even if it's only the theoretical side.
