I have what appears to be a pressure gauge on my dashboard. You can see it as the leftmost gauge at the top of this picture:

It is labelled "kp/cm^2", which I think stands for Kilo Pound (old unit of force) per unit of area. The needle goes up when I rev the engine. I was wondering if anyone knows exactly what this gauge is for? |

yup-
there is a conversion between those units and bar. i think haynes lists the operating pressures in both units.
