I skipped part of the conversation, but im planning on eventually making my own hatch that will replace the glass peice with a sleek looking fiberglass unit that has a flat bottom and flat window glass. I am intrested in working in automotive design after I can get some form of degree. Iv started to build car models of my own design from fiberglass. I am learning techniques now and gathering supplies but when im done a couple I hope to apply the same techniques to making a replacement hatch for my 924 that can be added without any modification to existing hardware. I will scan/post some conceptual sketch for it later. It may never come to exist but I need to build a portfolio now and have no other car to work on. |

If you can get a good fitting plexi unit you can do without a frame. It depends on if you want/have to have it looking std.
You can use bonnet retainers (straps)at both the the hinge and lock ends.
Friend of mine here has done this on his 840 kilo 924 race car.
Cheers
