I think that I need to replace my throttle position switch but I can't find the part number. Anyone know it?

My parts list shows a #(1 "Throttle-Valve Switch" for model M31 04 81- (1981 and on) with part # 931 606 119 01
It's a square shaped piece mounted upside-down under the throttle body with a metal plate top and a black plastic cover underneath + electrical connection.

| If the TPS isn't in too bad a condition, you might just clean the contacts. I just did this about 2 months ago. I removed the plastic cover and slipped a small piece of sandpaper between each contact, applied some pressure and moved the sandpaper around to clean off the oxidation. This may be a good thing to do anyway, but; it didn't solve the problem I was hoping to fix - my actual problem was finally fixed by cleaning the connectors to the ignition box and module. Remember to put some reference marks on the tps before removing it from the throttle body so you can reassemble it in the correct position. |
