we were anti poser.....I have pics of the other guys in makeup all glammed up from a previous incarnation.
I ran sound and managed for these guys and this was a photo taken after a promo shoot done downtown.
I was into Black Sabbath, and Iron Maiden all the early metal bands.
I was DJ for a college station and we were top 20 (most of the time top 10)rated nationally for a metal show. I had a co-host and we interviewed big name bands and prize giveaways, did news and top metal. My main job was talking to the record companies and getting us free stuff. Most of the stuff we gave away. But I have huge collection of autographed crap.
I got back stage passes for Dio which I kept and used, also had passes for the Bonham and the Cult, whihc I went to t he show but didn't feel like heading back stage so I gave the pass away.
It was fun time as I wen tto LA twice, once with the band to talk MCA and Capital records. Nirvana hit and screwed us.
On one of the trips I had VIP passes for Judas Priest and Accept for a live ABC radio concert. There were like 300 people in this room, I was about 5 feet too close to Rob Halford. Best thing was meeting the scorpions and partying with the drummer from Iron Maiden.
The good old days huh _________________ Bob Dodd - 924turbo@cox.net

Yeah - I had a 50-something college professorial type image in my mind until today. lol -Which would have you about 10 years older than me - I have to revise that to about 5 years younger now.
Actually, your 10-year-ago-pic roughly matches my guess of about a 25-year-ago Dwak. Wondering how far off that image is... _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

ah hell
It was down to my waist while i was in the steel shop welding.
I have real short hair from 6 or seven years back...cut it off after rolling a creeper over it too many times when I was a pro wrench at the Porsche shop.
right know it has grown out from a near buzz.
plus you can't fit it all in a helmet.
At least I DID convey an professional image before now...I guess I'm screwed everybody will think I'm a stoner, living in mobile home, watching reruns of springer......long live skynard and the mullet..I bet I could stick a ford 4x4 suspension under my 24
back to the hair
Hey the girls loved it....and that is all that mattered. _________________ Bob Dodd - 924turbo@cox.net

Other things you might not know about Bobby:
He once stood next to Schumacher on the podium:
He once was bumped to start in last place when he unknowningly used an illegal carburetor on his NASCAR race car.

I started wondering if Ghosthacker bought his car from you and maybe his cigarette lighter was stuck from being gunked-up with hash. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Here's the avatar for you. Please right-click to save it onto your computer and upload it onto the board. I have very limited web bandwidth.
Also, who wants a limited-edition Bobby Dodd coffee mug?

heh heh heh....you guys are too much fun. Yeah Bob, about rolling over the hair in the creeper, been there and done that. Man does that hurt!
I went with the vin diesel look this year seeing that the bald spot on the head keeps getting bigger every year. Not to mention my beer gut has grown proportionally over the years. |
