I would highly recommend https://btr-chicago.com/ for any Porsche service in the Chicago area. Bart the owner is a 924 enthusiast with a couple excellent builds ongoing.. His shop manager Mike is excellent and organized. They work on much more exotic stuff as well but are well equipped and knowledgeable about these cars too.

BTR still exists in FL but I realize far away

Lildude4life built his wicked build with https://sprengines.com/ in WI

There is a shop in Plainfield next to tron precision welding but unknown 924 specific machining experience. They were recommended to me during welding seminar. Been considering them if needed since all my old school guys are gone locally

I mean its not exactly a space shuttle Arent there any shop that can rebuild old 4 cylinder engines? Its pretty similar to an old Volvo engine, pinto, merc or similar from the same era. With the spec sheet in the hand it should be doable for plenty of shops.

Guys
Thanks for comments and recommendations…
Agreed not rocket science but I always prefer someone who has been there and done that …even with specs. Especially with knowledge of tweeks and recommendations .
I have reached out to the listed Vendors and am edging my way to making some decisions on products, parts , machine work etc.
Always appreciate the knowledge base on this site
Thanks again
Frank
