Im new to the board. Its nice to see a board dedicated to 924's. Im a regular at pelican and Flat6 and sometimes rennlist. Ive got an old '78 924 Auto (<-- only thing i hate about it) that ive had for 3 going on 4 yrs in august. I was a member of the NZ porsche club until recently when i let it lapse. My most enjoyable experience with them was driver training in my stepdads 944 race car (recently upgraded to '78 911 SC racecar). My old girl wasnt very well looked after by PO's but its starting to come right now. Its a funny metallic lime green with black vinyl/ cloth insert interior. If anyone could tell me what paintcode it is would be great as the code sticker is missing and im about to paint and panel it. I bought it at 135,000km and its coming up to 166,000km soon. It hasnt been the most reliable machine (thats y it has low k's ) but i love it to bits and wouldnt trade it fr anything... cept a 944 turbo cup...
Its not very fast compared to modern cars but it still gets me in trouble if im not careful. You can see it here[/url] _________________ '86 944 |

welcome. Interesting colour.
Looks like '78 was a very green year for Porsche. According to the Brian Long '78 924s were available in Signal Green (non-metalic), Colibri Green Metalic and Reseda Green Metalic.
Any good upmarket spraypainter should be able to tell you what colour you actually have. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

Nice scenic shots! I see you average 15.5 over the speed limit - that's about right.
I have a list of color codes around here somewhere...maybe they're on the other 'puter. I'll hunt them down. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

Uh.... the color on my 82 NA is noted as "Champagne" on the sticker and I don't see that in the list.
Is it really Havanna Brown? That doesn't sound right. _________________ -Stu

Well, I'll be damned! I learn something new about this car all the time.
I finally found the color code: LM8U
Thanks to the sites posted where you can look up the code, I found that the actual color of my car is officially "Platinum Metallic Clear Coat"
I guess it was easier to put "Champagne" on the sticker.
Go figure.
What a great board! _________________ -Stu
