I remember it being sold by original owner for like 12k lmao. Doesn't look like anything has changed, if that horrible bumper wasn't on it I would actually say its quite a nicely done car. _________________ 1980 931 "Salt" Bucket wannabe racer (not started)

That's what I was thinking. The back end and the motor conversion looks decent enough, it's that mug up front that is just kills it. _________________ 1979 Euro 931, Olive

Somebody probably spent far more than the asking price for this conversion, but I'd be very surprised if it resulted in a car that's better to drive than a solid 944 (especially a turbo or S2).
Now and then somebody hits on a gold combination where you'd least expect it; I doubt that's the case here. It might still turn heads, but if it drives like the Frankencar it looks like, that's
all you'll get out of it. Unless you try to drive it fast, in which case you might get dead to top it all off. "You were so preoccupied with whether you could, you didn't stop to think if you should." _________________ 1980 931 diamond in the rough |

I believe it was a pretty well respected engineer who made it a personal project, all the work looked pretty good for one off custom by one person. I'm sure there are still flaws and issues but I wouldn't be too surprised if it was a competent and very fun car all around... for all of 20 minutes before you start getting boiled alive by the motor right behind you lol. I think this guy thought way too much about how and not nearly enough about why lol. That being said they're really on the high end of price for swapped cars, if it was really pretty I could imagine asking price would be gotten. _________________ 1980 931 "Salt" Bucket wannabe racer (not started)

Interesting. You can tell it's not the kind of hack job you see on a lot of these conversions; a lot of work has gone into it. But yeah, you might just be banging your head on the wall trying to make the combination work well. The looks aren't terrible to my eye, it's just that it'd take a true wizard to make this car drive and handle nearly as good as a basic 944. _________________ 1980 931 diamond in the rough |

If someone would just mount the original front bumper back on and the original tail lights, it would already look miles better. _________________ https://www.the924.com |
