Hi folks, new member, new 924 owner.
Car is a 1985 n/a 924 imported to New Zealand from the UK in 1990. Manual.
It's a project for my son and I to work on. Only been ours for a couple of weeks so just getting to grips with things.
Problem: Car runs fine *except* when the ignition is turned off the engine keeps running! We have to stall the car to stop it running.
If the fuel pump relay is pulled the car stops. No surprise there. Part number 3.300.300
We have checked the connections at the relay plug. Specifically, the "always on 12v", the ground and the switched 12v. They all seem to be correct. We understand that there is some signal from the ignition circuit that kills the pumps if the engine stops. Not sure how to test that with a multimeter but maybe that's not working right.
Has anyone experienced this problem before? I have searched the forum but most people seem to get the opposite problem with the fuel pump relay.
Any help and guidance is much appreciated. We're in New Zealand where parts are often more tricky to get hold of and more expensive - or take weeks to arrive from Europe or the USA.
Cheers!
