|
|
Hey guys I'm finishing up my 77 rebuild and cant seem to find the filler neck components... I thought it had a setup like 80 models and later with the rubber boot but it appears the hole is smaller. I think there is a little ring that screws into it but am truly not sure as it was missing when I bought it and I can't find much online. Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,

I have everything from tank up except for the flange and plate that secure the filler neck. Will need to buy a new cap as mine is rusted up but that’s easy. Basically the little ring that screws in and the flange that seals it all up is what I’m missing. Seems like they are NLA too [/img] _________________ 1980 931 "Salt" Bucket wannabe racer (not started)

Since this site is a bit dated the best way to show a picture is to throw it up on a picture hosting site like Flickr and then drop the URL in the post here using the image tag.

Go to clarksgarage.com in the repair section are the detailed parts lists. Find the PN and post it. I think I have the steel filler neck tube. The rubber boot I got from the local Carquest, had to cut it to length. _________________ Mike

I have a filler neck from a '78 in VGC, it is PN 477-201-115. The foot long steel tube fill piece with vent tube if that is what you are looking for. _________________ Mike

Sorry boys I've been hard at work slaying electrical and interior demons. I have an early 77 car, the filler neck I have off of an 80. Is the 80 filler neck the same as the 77? Secondly is the boot. The 77-79 cars have a different boot and mounting style compared to later cars. The 1980 donor I cut up had a bigger boot and a metal ring that snaps it in place like a snap ring. My 77 and 79 have a smaller rubber boot and it had a small ring that screws into the body and essentially clamps down the boot. I need a small boot and the small ring that holds it in place. Getting to the point where Im probably going to find the best rubber fit I can at the parts store and just 3d printing or cncing the mount ring.
