Hello all. My name is Phil and I'm a newby. Recently purchased a Championship Edition, and have been busy starting a restoration. Its not my first Porsche, or my only classic, but it is my first fairly substantial resto. car has no rust, but has been baked in the California sun, so new seat covers on the inside, paint outside etc. I'll be posting in parts for an exhaust filter. if you have one, I'll send money and name the car after you (as long as you're not called Dick)
Thanks. |

| Yes, my local Porsche dealer parts dude says its called an exhaust filter. EGR filter would make more sense I guess. I believe its a particulate filter in the emissions system for the two early years. A metal pipe comes up from the exhaust prior to the Cat, goes into this metal filter, then up into the plenum. Oh..
I don’t know anything about EGR on a 924 other than I’d probably try to delete it.. _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

I don't think those are available anymore, from what I have been able to find. The problem is they rotted in place from where they were located. Mine basically dissolved into nothing.

Thanks Adam. You're correct, they are no longer available. Unfortunately I cant ignore or bypass it as I am in California, and I will be shot at dawn if its nt there at time of inspection. I'm hoping to find one sitting in someone's garage.

| Some dingbat disconnected my exhaust filter and plugged the line to it, but never plugged the line that connects to the exhaust pipe. So now whenever I drive, exhaust fumes come up through the shift boot right into the car and gives me a headache. So much for "smart" people. |

| Btw, my car is a super rare Championship Edition too. I was going to buy your car before you when it was for sale. I was hoping someone would save it and not destroy or part it out. Now I can sleep good knowing it's going to be saved. |
