can anyone confirm the rear stud lengths on a 931?

To fit wheels with OUT rear spacers, the stud isnt fully threaded, so i can't fully tighten the open ended lug nuts! need about 3 more threads!

I looked and found studs that are fully threaded. I tried to measure the length with the brake rotor still on. estimated a 65mm.

Can they be removed/installed with out removing the rear hub?

I contemplating simply getting a die and cutting 3 more threads, but its probably not the best idea. On the other hand I really dont want to pull the hubs.

I thought about doing the same thing (cut three additional threads). But I decided to just put in a 5 mm spacer when I removed the big spacer and installed 7 inch cookie cutters on my race car. I was running 6 inch cookies with the thick rear spacer but the 7 inch offset was too wide for the stock 924 fender flare. I've run two seasons so far with the 7 inch cookies on the stock rear studs (with 5 mm spacer) and no problems nor interference with the tire and fender.

First make a stop bar to keep the hub from rotating, I use a wood 1x4 (probably 30" long)with holes drilled so that it fits over two of the studs and jams onto the floor. Then put double nuts on a different stud and just back it out. They are really tight and probably corroded in place so some PB Blaster and sitting overnight helps. That is the way I also do the axle nuts at 375 ft lb.

Sorry about that, No they are not screw in studs. I had hubs from an early 944 and I had to take the hub to a shop that had a press to get them out. It is best to get them pressed in also as trying to crank them in with nuts did not get them seated well. The stock ones were long enough for the typical cap nut, but not long enough for the open nuts as 3 threads have to be exposed. for our race safety specs. I have plenty of 924 lug bolts and standard (45mm?) wheel studs here.

im not worried about pushing them out, but can it be done, is there enough room to do it.
I found out stock are 66mm, is there enough room?

My Nephew and I have been successfully threading the open ended nuts so its totally possible. Needed to fit 951 wheels without spacer and realized same thing

Huh? I dont get it. you are threading the NUTs??? they are already threaded.

Im talking about the studs. they need 3 more threads to seat the wheel

Yes, the open ended nuts. The last 2.5 to 3mm toward the outside is not threaded typically.

If you remove a spacer to move a wheel inward for fender clearance the stud sticks out farther requiring the nut to thread on farther before seating to the wheel.

Surprised the open ended nut is not fully threaded...... you should always have at least 2-3 threads of a stud poking out the end of the nut, so the nut should be fully threaded? The two sets of Porsche specific nuts I bought are fully threaded

I have noted that the studs are not fully threaded at the base when installing bolt on spacers. Have to put a spacer inbetween the hub and bolt on spacer to make sure its tight.

Also to add, Porsche stock studs are 50mm (front on 931) the rears are the longer 70mm to cover the OEM 20-21mm spacer. Not touched the rear studs, but have swapped out the fronts to the longer 70mm to allow me to use various thickness spacers. Bolt on/hub centric spacers foul the hub due to the bearing adjuster + spindle and protruding dust cap

Its funny how I mis-read this thread and assumed the nut since that was my issue. I'll have to get you a pic
