Saw a 924 yesterday in the next town over while getting parts..

Nobody was home, left a note under the wiper..
Came around a few hours later in my 931 (after fixing my hose) and he was home..

It's a 76 (in the door) with 33k on it.. Some surface rust though..
He was talking about putting a SBC in it..

I took him for a ride in mine and he was all "holy shit".. I didn't have the heart to tell him that his would only have about 1/3 the power..

Says he is thinking about keeping it afterall now.. We throw a battery in it and try starting it.. No fuel pump.. Hmmm..

These older ones have a switch on the airplate I recall.. Massive vacuum leaks everywhere.. All hoses just rotted to heck... Intake boots are nice though..

I pull the boot over the airplate and lift the plate while my other buddie cranks it.. Finger the plate, finger the throttle.. VROOOMMM..

Darn thing runs.. Not all that bad actually when I mix the fuel myself with one hand on the plate and my other hand on the throttle.. Revs up and stuff decently if you finger her just right.. Engine sounds solid..

Good oil, coolant.. Might be a savable car..
Interior pretty nice actually..

I got it to run for the first time in like 20 years.. HA..

Was fun..
Told him to replace every rubber hose.. ALL of em..
Talked about draining the tank and fuel filter stuff.. Pressure test talk and stuff..

It says 76 in the door though so figure it will be one of those small valve 95hp engines with the strange crank bearings in it? IDK...

Chrome trim.. Black interior with tartan cloth in the seats.. 1 torn seam in each seat but very nice otherwise.. Dash is bad..

He has my phone #.. Maybe he will call me to play with it some more..

He is an old American car rat rod kind of guy.. Doesn't know anything about the Pcar.. Acted like he wanted to trade if for something else..

Told me he paid a ridiculous price for the 24 though.. Probably thinks it's worth a million bucks or something..
I might help him get it running though..

Stopped by there again yesterday..
The guy wants me to work on it for him.. Left some money for me somewhere for parts because he probably won't be home..

Maybe thursday/friday I'll go over there and put all new vac lines on it and see what happens.. It's right across the street from a good auto parts store actually..
Might drain the tank and put fresh gas in it too..

Also leaks brake fluid somewhere.. Prolly a soft line..

Otherwise it's a pretty clean car with only 30k something on it..

Stopped over there after looking at a 944 for sale nearby..
$600-$800 car asking $2,500..
Engine is probably good inside but all the hoses and tbelt are ancient..
Mice supposedly ate the wiring, supposed to have a new clutch though..

I haven’t seen this car out in a long time but just now I seen it is out with a for sale sign on it..
“Make offer”
Doesn’t seem like he has touched it since I looked at it back then..

Gonna call him here in a bit and shoot a number at him..

It’s interesting that it has caps on the rockers, access holes to pull the torsion bars..
Door says 10/76..

Bit of rust on it but just surface rust I believe..
