On my day '77 day car the oil pressure gauge is pegged when the ignition is turned off/battery disconnected. Does that mean the gauge is kaput? _________________ Mike

Does it do that all the time, with ignition on, or just when you shut it off?
Normally that would indicate a short to ground, somewhere in the circuit between the gauge and the sensor. _________________ Vaughan Scott

I'll check it out, thanks. These guys never have wiring problems -right? Currently getting a new head gasket(Cometic ) and ARP studs, about had it with these 40 year old head bolts. _________________ Mike
