If you blocked the return line from the fuel pressure regulator then how is it supposed to regulate pressure?
Does it not need to bleed the pressure off to the return line to do its job?
Blocking the FPR return line very well may put you at max fuelpump pressure..
Can you measure your actual pressure? What kind of FPR is it? _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

didnt block the fuel return from preassure regulator, i thought the vent tubes were returns on the carburetor so i blocked them off first but took them off once i realize that. fuel preassure should be 2 psi. i blocked preassured fuel and put a t with a regulator and it stayed at 2, screwed the regulator all the way in. |

Hello,
Based on setting up many similar bike carbs it is vital to keep the breather hoses, usually between the gap of carbs 1/2 and 3/4 open to atmosphere. If you block them, carbs are tight until you press pedal even once, then the flow will not stop/overflooding as the float can't push air out of the upper carb body. Fuel is usually fed through one hose through carbs 2/3. In general, float levels should be adjusted so that the float tang closes the fuel needle when gas level hits the seam between float bowl/carb body. If you don't do so, the carbs will starve on full throttle and resulting lean mixture. This is where you must consider the angle of carbs, but it seems the seam between bodies/float bowl is angled and now quite horizontal to ground so you should be able to get it working.
I would try the setup with an secondary tank hanging somewhere over the carbs and checking that floats work and fuel is cut off. Expect rough running after idle, you need to also sync the carbs. After all is set then connecting it to the normal tank and thinking how the fuel returns, etc works.
Hope this helps.

got the engine running better, leads for 2 and 4 were mixed up, but ofc ran into new problems. my two right carburetors leak when running the engine and the most right one started doing this after engine had ran.

Also there is this smoke coming from exhaust manifold area, i think it is from the left over copper exhaust manifold gasket but im not sure.

Dont mind the smoke, it will burn off, unless you have an oil leak on the exhaust side... |
