I have been thinking it might be time to get some more rod bolts made by ARP. I think I could do it thru my local motor machinist if I handled all the details and money. I have no idea of the price per set last time or the minimum number of sets( I believe it was 10).

I'm retired and will be home for several months so have time to deal with it.

Let me know if you have interest and if 10 sets come up I'll pursue it. I would be in for 1.

I'd definitely be in for one, maybe two depending on price.

Depending on price, yes I could be interested, never know when you want to build another engine. Ideolas price was $285 from an invoice I have.

Diameter, pitch, length and stuff?

I just looked to see if I had another set that I got from Dan. Nope. Now I'm committing to three sets.

From the Ideola website:
"OEM replacements for the Porsche 924 / 931 2.0L rod bolts are NLA. Fortunately, in 2008, we were successful in commissioning an aftermarket replacement for the stock units, which are now a catalog item from ARP.

The part number is AR336. These units are made from a higher grade material (ARP2000) than OEM replacement due to the demand in the aftermarket for a rod bolt suitable on higher-than-stock forced induction applications. These rod bolts and are rated at 220 ksi."

"924 2.0L Nuts for Rod Bolts
Set of 8 10mm x 1.0 12-point nuts suitable for the 924/931 2.0L AR336 rod bolts."

On a stock NA, they are recommended to be replaced ..... but are not always needed and you could reuse the old. Depends on your state of risk aversion.

On a stock turbo, recommended to change bolts on rebuild, but if you are feeling lucky, don't over rev or overly boost, you may get away with reusing. Not the best advice.

On a high revving NA or over boosted turbo you must replace the bolts or internal damage may ensue.

Stock bolts would suffice but they are long time NLA. So ARP is the only option except they are not a stock item and have to be bought in minimums of 10 sets direct from ARP. Not necessarily seen as an upgrade.....but ARP does sell themselves as superior to OEM. No idea if this is true on rod bolts spec? But they are your only option.....so you have to pay the price of new bolts and nuts. Think I paid circa $200 on the last set I bought with nuts.

To boost order numbers, may be worth contacting Mittelmotor who stock them but do run out of supplies. I think EBS Racing also do/did?
