On some subject topics here it is noted that supercharging is best to go instead of turbo for the NA...I have understood that it is easier to do and simpler to work on... does anyone know if supercharging requires also removing the factory injection system and change that to EFI? |

does not require that, there are a couple of members that use the factory injection with a supercharger. _________________ https://www.the924.com |

Best supercharged 924 I have seen is done by Porschenewbe on here - http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?p=386091&sid=9962c1fa08fa1b1fe40b3e5133e64513
Or known as DrJohn on www.porsche924.co.uk
There may be simpler installs than his. But his is attention to detail is second to none. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Yes Iv seen it in one of your other posts.. could be done if one has fabricating tools and skills etc... to do that thru a Mechanic would probably cost a small fortune though IMO. |

He is a hospital doctor, not a mechanic, so anyone can potentially do what he has taught himself to do. But given the skills in the engine bay, I'd be happy to have him reconstruct my body anytime! _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

I myself can do wonders on body work, spray painting etc ,, yet they are not my profession either as I Run another type of business,,, yet in doing engine work I am not capable of, or else afraid to though I have mingled in engine bays before, I don't think I would be capable of doing such fabrication work. |

Well that's a new one. Only supercharged CIS 924 I've ever seen. Looks almost exactly like how I was planning on doing it (turn the big rubber boot 90 degrees then take a pipe down to SC and then back up to the original intake) but I never had the time and always needed my 924 for a daily.
Shame there's not many technical details. Does he post on here? I would love to find out more about it. |
