My fuel gauge is lying to me and never tells me how much is actually in the tank.
I have removed the sender and tested the resistance and get results of 225 ohms full and 300 ohms empty.
I tested the sender out of my parts car and got results of 26 ohms full and 90 ohms empty.
Both senders have the same part number, 417 919 051B stamped on them.
Are either of these correct or both are screwed?

There is a possibility that the error is actually in the wiring since when I turn my high beams on the gas gauge indicates full. Just try in eliminate one thing at a time. I dont want to replace a $120 part unnecessarily.
