I am working on a 1987 924S that has not seen the road in 5 years. I think everything under the hood is OK now and it will fire and try to run on starting fluid. I am not getting any gas to the engine. I have drained the tank and put in two gallons of gas. When I take power directly to the fuel pump it acts like it wants to do something but does not run. Maybe the motor tries to run but the impeller is stuck? I have ordered a new pump and a DME relay. While I am waiting for parts I just wanted any input you may have. Also, when I look up under the dash at the fuse panel I am wondering how do I get to some of the relays that access is blocked?

Welcome to the board.

Check the timing and balance shaft belts since these cars have interference engines.

Search this board for FOES (front of engine service).

Once you have the new pump installed, remove the end cap and ball on the front of the fuel rail, attach a hose over the end of the rail and flush the lines. Then install a new fuel filter.
