|
|
Hello all, I just got a MY80 931 with the stock suspension and brakes (4 lug). What is the stock wheel spacer size? There is a spacer up front near 25mm so the tires fill the fender nice. However the rears step in a lot and have no spacer.
Thanks! |

Not stock, but we matched that with two spacers stacked (required extra-long wheel studs) in the rear on our ITB racecar... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Were spacers standard on these cars or added? I'm wondering if the rearrange spacer was removed or the front added? |

Stock was to have only one spacer pair in the rear... so yeah, looks like maybe yours were rearranged... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Does anyone have any tips on the stock spacers? My car has no spacers at all. Fronts are at the fender edge. Rears need 20-25mm spacers. These are stock spiderwebs. Seems like I need 65-70mm rear lug bolts with the spacers and the biggest I have found are 60mm. Between spacers and new lug bolts it seems cheaper to find some wheels with a better offset. |

Sounds like the spacers have been put on the wrong end of the car? Front should have no spacer, the rear should take the 21mm _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

Thank you, I was so mistaken at first. There is no spacer up front. I have read back through years of threads and it seems that the 4 lug drum never came with a factory spacer. So the option is something like 70mm bolts which seems sketchy or switch to thread in studs and wheel bolts. I have found a 20mm 57.1 hub spacer set though I think gap wise could go up to 30mm.
Seemingly might be better to get a second set of wheels with more appropriate 30mm offset and put those on. Through all the "wheel" threads though I'm not sure how people are dealing with the fact the fronts are already out at their limit. |
