Save it! I got my Weissach for $2500 last year and I don't regret it whatsoever. $1500 for any running driving vehicle is good, let alone a special trim 924. I have to ask though, if it has the original stereo what model is it? |

Don't know about the stereo, but when it arrives I will let you know. I will have to ship the car, so all in will be $2000. It's at shop that restores British cars.
Okay, I'm buying it _________________ 1981 Weissach Edition #179

Got the car delivered on 8/17/17. Driver tells me about an hour out that the car does not have a battery. He arrives, rolls off the truck, thank God the brakes work. Car is now in front of my house. I go get a battery, eat dinner first, because I'm a little scared. Go out drop the battery in. All lights on the dash work! Headlights pop up! Turn the key, nothing. Not even a click. The red mist starts to descend so I go back in, put my daughter to bed. Go back out and boom it cranks. Won't idle so it dies, but it cranked again. I give it some gas put in in gear and get it up the driveway! That was day one.
It does not have the original radio.
New tires though. Windshield has a medium crack at the base. No rust that I have found, not even in the battery tray.

Sounds like a typical old German sports car arriving at its new house
I think with a nice little tune up, a can of seafoam in the fuel tank and a nice long drive she will be a lot happier.
Happy motoring and glad she found a good home!

My cranking issue turned out to be the key. The one on the right works. Put a couple gallons of gas mixed with sea foam in today. Fuel filter will be here Saturday. Should be dropping an order with ideola soon for some tune parts.

Changed the oil and filter 8/27/17. Oil was pretty black and thin. Need to get a flare wrench for the fuel filter. Did notice a small leak from the bottom of the fuel filter.
Do the fuel filters have O rings between the fittings?
Asked a question about control arms, noticed mine were rusty.
Control Arms
No rust on the body underneath! Pretty excited about that.
Drove the car around the neighborhood one time. Brakes seem ok. I will need to get the car registered so I can take it out and get it up to temperature. Biggest thing is the not idling. After tune up will see if that still persists. _________________ 1981 Weissach Edition #179
