Hi Derek,
I bought it in derelict state off the guy who wanted to use it in club racing but aborted the project. I also own No.5 which is totally original. So I would like to get No.2 restored based on the No5 car and based on pictures from period. All the trick bits are still with the car.
Will keep you posted.

Those pictures are awesome.
The number 76 on page 2 is Mike Cyphert. That was Tom Brennens car, and it won the GT3 runoffs with Tom driving it.
Tom sold it to Mike, who ran a lot. Mike sold it to a guy nemaed Braunlich from the Pittsburg area. Didn't run a lot. I bought it in 97 after seeing an add for it in Autoweek, ran it for about 5 years after a complete rebuild, which was done by John Truman. I believe John might have worked on your dads car. I know he did Stephan Edles's (sp).
Mine is siting in storage at my shop, in good shape but with a broken valve spring. One day I'll get around to fixing it. |

Mike Cyphert is a great guy and was fast in that car. Especially at Nelson Ledges. My dad and I have reached out to him lately.
I believe Braunlich had a brother and they actually ran two 924s together. Cyphert sold his 924 and raced the Honda CRX and soon after two 924s would enter as a team and I think they were brothers. I believe it was the Braunlich brothers or at least if not brothers Braunlich ran one with a team mate. I think they were lime green and orange. _________________ Love all things Porsche, especially 924/944 and 911 race cars.
