Hi Guys,
Hans here from Holland,
Have been watching the forum for a while doing a lot of learning.
Yesterday I bought my first 924, a 1979 model.
the color is L94K, the purists probably know what model it is.
Plan is to do an engine rebuild and interior rebuild, a bit of a polish and then drive!
As soon as I figured a place to put some pics up I'll post them
I'll do a proper introduction in the projects page since I need loads of info to get this thing back to glory.
regards,
Hans |

Hey all! Brand new to Porsche ownership, I bought the one ScirrocoSteve was selling in Rochester Ny! Fell in love after the first drive! I've always loved the looks of the 924 and 944 so after I saw it I knew it had to happen. I look forward to annoying all of you with my questions. _________________ 1979 Porsche 924 |

Hi everybody!
Glad to be the new owner of dolomite gray 1980 turbo. This is my 3rd Porsche I've owned, but my first 924. Previously owned a '70-914 and an '83-944. However, roughly 10 years back I (foolishly) got rid of both and got into BMW E30s for a bit, but now I'm back.
My car is in good running shape, but will only be used occasionally, so that should help it last for many moons to come. Hope to make it as reliable a weekend warrior as possible.

Do most people drive their cars to Monterey or trailer them? Longest trip I've done in mine so far is around 100 miles. Car handled it fine, but now you're talking about a 800 mile round trip. _________________ 1980 - 931 |

Hi all,
Jan here from South Africa, bought a 1985 924 na yesterday. The car is in need of a lot of TLC but is mechanically sound.
Been dreaming about owning one for 15 years and finally I have one.
See you around the forums! |

Welcome!
The best way to improve a 924 is to refresh the suspension (bushings, shocks, biggest salvage sway bars you can find, four wheel alignment), add some quality tires, and enjoy the phenomenal handling. It will likely never be as fast as your neighbor's V6 Civic.
You should introduce your car in the "General" section and let us know your goals; I'm sure people will have other good suggestions. _________________ Toofah King Bad

I'm so new to 924s that I don't even have one yet. About three years ago I bought an '86.5 928S, and I do love that thing. Most of my time and energy (and money) has gone in that direction, but I've recently got the bug to get a 931. I'm a sucker for the uncommon and unloved, apparently! I'm definitely looking for a project, and would prefer it currently be running. No set time table, but I'm on the lookout... _________________ -----------------------------------------
