We got 8 inches of snow last weekend, 11 more in the forecast for this weekend. Had -35 F wind chills this morning...

Will have to find my winter coat soon.

Bet you didn't think they would do that when you bought them

Well it does seem excessive that you will have -35 F.
That's like Siberia December temps.

I cant believe you get such low temps there somehow I feel that the forecasters are doing the same as all media, overdramatizing things and inflating figures.

Around where I live normal winters are 14 F to -4 F but sometimes we get harsher winters as well. Las time it was really cold was a long time ago and we had -37 F
Right now its 9:24 in the morning and we have 26 F

By the way, the Fahrenheit thing is REALLY stupid and not linear.
FFS 0 C is where the water freezes...whats so complicated about that that you have to use such a wider range of values from the F

We were -7F on my outdoor thermometer with 25 mph winds. A wind chill chart shows that as -35 F or -37 C.

-32 last night here in central Alberta with a high today of -25 and windy. I don't think I'm going outside today.
Hopefully it will warm up a bit for tomorrow since we are supposed to go skiing.

Yes and no. Technically it is a metric country but most people are 'dual' in the sense that we talk about hp not kw, mpg not litres per 100 and lbs not kgs. We fully understand both though and its usually just second nature to do the mental conversions from one to the other.
