Next up is trying to get turn signals operational.
After much fiddling, and more to come here's where we're at;
Left rear flashes, left front won't light for either running lights or turn.
Right side will light up if you fiddle with the switch but won't flash.
We pulled the hazard switch which won't turn on anything except the dash board indicator.
Trying to decide if it's the hazard switch or the turn signal switch or something else.
Working through this;

Thought I'd stop and ask if there isn't something to check before throwing parts at it.
I confirmed there's voltage at the left front connector but not at the bulb so I need to pull that fixture back out and see if there's a wiring issues there.
I'm suspicious of the actual stalk switch. _________________ 87 924S project, '83 944 engine,

Fun chasing electrical problems in a 30 year old car! The Pelican advice is spot on, just tedious. I'd take a look at the two fuses first, pull them, inspect, check for corrosion, reinstall. Then check the grounds on the frame rails, since you had a fire, might be something there. Check the ground in the back between the tail-lights too. Not sure if the grounds under the dash apply, almost have to remove the dash to get at that. The flasher/relay itself might be bad, if you can source a new or used one to test. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

My fuse blew once and I believe the dash indicator would flash but the lights wouldn't. Just something to check. _________________ '84 944 -White, Brown interior

after fiddling around I concluded the stalk switch was bad, found a NOS on ebay for $20 ordered it up, went outside to pull the car into the shop and of course all the indicators worked fine!!! Crazy. This car is having a ball messing with my head. _________________ 87 924S project, '83 944 engine,
