Clearcoated. I just need to buff and polish it now.

It's coming along! Mostly what is remaining to do is the interior and a few minor mechanical things.

The car does look great, but I was having a hard time imagining using a pro-style paint gun without a paint booth.

It isn't a problem because I used Lacquer. If I used If I used urethane or canalized enamel I would have needed to make a kind of booth with plastic sheet.

I'm almost ready to put the interior in now.

Moved it on it's own power for the first time!

I didn't take it for a drive because I needed to shim up the hydraulic T/O bearing. The clutch was grabbing at the floor. Fixed that yesterday. Now I need to do a basic alignment so i can drive to the alignment shop, buy license plates and insurance.

Can't wait to go for a ride!

Here are a couple of videos from yesterday. I only drove it up and down the block because I don't have plates or insurance yet. It feels good but still needs of tuning.

Well, now that I have my garage set up and we are basically settled in here in Tucson, I finely got to do some work on the car. I couldn't get it to run well enough to trust driving anywhere so i called FAST tech support. They told me my cam had too much duration to work with a self learning system. (247/253 @ .050") So I called Crane and they ground me a custom cam. I got the car running Sunday and it runs great.

I also had some trouble with clutch engagement. After talking to Speedway Motors about the pressure plate I bought from them they said that this cover doesn't engage very smoothly and probably wouldn't be suitable for the street. So to get the car back on the road I just bought an OEM early HP Camaro pressure plate. It feels very smooth pushing the pedal down and letting it up. Then I started the engine and tried to drive it. With the engine running, doesn't matter if it it in neutral or in gear, the pedal is smooth going to the floor but coming up it binds like the pivot bushing is galled up. This makes it difficult to drive as it causes the clutch to chatter. I can't figure out why it only does this with the engine running.

I have a stock 944 clutch master cylinder and a McCleod hydraulic T/O bearing with a -3 braided line connecting them. The pedal assembly is all factory 944. It just seems crazy to do it only with the engine running.

Anybody have any ideas?

Sounds almost like some wierd centrifugally triggered problem with the pressure plate assy.

I had a suggestion from another forum and it turned out to be the problem. I needed to limit the pedal travel. It was pushing the pressure plate over center. I reduced the travel by about 2 1/2" with an adjustable stop I made up.
