I was thinking about this hatch idea , seems the problem is 1 making a mold , 2 heating the plastic and molding complex curves ,which I've heard is not possible with some plastics . maybe it would be better to make a fiberglass hatch with 3 windows . 1 big 1 facing rear and 2 small side windows , all 3 would be almost flat . just slight ( single plane )curves . it could look something like this .

I like the idea but I think the ribs would need to be steel/metal, and it would also give it abit of 928 look

Holy rice cakes! Maybe the hatch portion but the rest is way too techno-combat for my classical tastes.

WOW thanks dwak, I had'nt thought about useing kevlar and nomex in the composite body, instead of fiberglass,to make it fire and bullet-proof . 924 A.P.C. (amored personel carrier ) . I could just make the plastic windows 4 inches thick , and add 2 small tanks and pumps in the cargo area, 1 for an oil sprayer for the road and windscreen of any trailing vehicle . the second tank would be for brake fluid thats pumped into the exhaust manifold to create a smoke screen . I could get 1 of the cadillac heads-up displays for infrared imaging to see through the smoke screen . some run flat tires for those pesky police spikes . anyone know where I could get some radar absorbing paint , in realtree mossy-oak colors . I'm gonna have to watch ROAD WARRIOR again for some more ideas .

you can watch it on medium fast forward a lot of times by pressing fast forward while play is depressed alo I think.. I dont know it should help your thinking a bit. because you will be viewing all that stuff faster from road warrior.

Joes924Racer ,actually downloading the info takes awhile, but once its in the puter , cross referencing a variety of methods and techniches across different apllications ,for the purpose of finding , better , cheaper , faster , ways of doing things is easy.

Lizard , must be legal. this company has all that and more .gun ports , tack dispensors (road spikes) etc. it would be nice to be filthy rich , could go out to the desert and play cops and robbers with REAL bullets .

I'm about to take my hatch of for spraying.

R U up to give it a go peter?

I'm in gosford and I expect the hatch to be off for a minimum of a month.

The fibreglass mold seems like the best idea. Perspex may be forgiving but I think even 3mm out would look dicky:)

sounds interesting. I'm down on the North Shore.

I'll get on to the professionals this week and see what they think about a fibreglass mould.

I spoke to Dave about the rear hatch also. I will order one shortly.
An interesting aside is that I am sending him a set of metal flippers so he can make a mold for lexan flippers. He then said he can make them very cheaply. Really cheap.
