As soon as the engine starts should I be seeing water flowing straight out of the smaller rear engine pipe when unhooked (connects to smaller outlet on coolant transfer pipe) I unhooked the pipe to check and nothing .... Does it only flow when it hits temp? I wouldn't think so _________________ 1979 NA

The themostat is opening based on temperature, so that means that when the engine temperature is getting higher, the flow is starting slowly.
So indeed, only when the engine is warming up the flow is starting. _________________ 911SC - 1980 |

But shouldn't water pressure within the engine block itself be high due to water circulating from the water pump all the time? Thus forcing water out the rear flange? _________________ 1979 NA

I see how that works with flow to the radiator......But shouldn't water pressure within the engine block itself be high due to water circulating from the water pump all the time? Thus forcing water out the rear flange? _________________ 1979 NA

from all the info I have gathered it should flow around the engine until it warms up. then it opens the line to the radiator. _________________ Porsche 924 1984 (UK import) NA
