|
|
is there a video anywhere that shows the tuning of the A/F mixture with the Allen wrench on the fuel distributor? I been talking through e-mails with people that say that's how it's done, but I am trying to tune for smog, so I need to know what to look for. I've replaced plugs, air/fuel filters, cat is new. but when I tune for 10* BTDC I got like no power. I cannot even get this thing above 3k RPMs. So,.. I think I am running incredibly lean. If it was rich I would imagine it would at least go higher up in RPM's.
Thoughts? |

| Also,.. Perhaps a video cleaning the fuel distributor by hand would be a big help too. |

Turn the allen wrench to the right (clockwise) to richen the mixture.
There are several good threads in the how too section on cleaning and taking apart the fuel distributor. I would be careful taking it apart as they are very hard to get back together and to keep from leaking.
Just as a question, why are you wanting to tune it at 10* BTDC? _________________ Ian Edgerly

You must have an early 924. There are several things that change during the years of production of the 924.
This is connected to the Fuel Pump Relay, pin 31b.
More details here
Basically, if the engine stalls (such as happens if you crash), this connector is supposed to turn the fuel pump off. If this is left disconnected, you loose this safety feature. _________________ 78 924 NA

FML,... How do I fix this? What line is this called,.. where might I get it?
I can only imagine this is the fuel regulator? This is where it went to.
Also,. I think I may need new crush washers for the 5 on top of the fuel distributor, anyone know where I can get those? |

the line didn't really break,.. but the end where the nipple would go the nipple fell off,.. so maybe it did break? .. shrugs..
Looks like the return line from the fuel pressure regulator back to the fuel distributor. |

bottom pic is the warm up regulator or WUR. Controls fuel pressure on start up.
You may want to get with Ideola here on the board to get a new one of those lines, unless you are very good a welding, I don't think it is reparable.
There should be a connector around somewhere (should be blue) to connect to that fitting. I have an 81 so I do not have one....something I am looking in to right now.

WT??
What's at the place the WUR should actually go?
The connection plug in the Warm Up Regulator is normally Grey:
Please check if the wire colours are correct.
Brown Connector: TTS, red/white & green/white wires
Bleu Connector: CSV, red/white, yellow/red & red/black wires
Grey Connector: WUR, red/white & brown (earth) wires
Black Connector: AAD, black/green & brown (earth) wires

Hey 924-76, Thanks for the offer but I couldn't do pay pal atm. I did manage to get it from a place in SFO for the same price tho.. I feel bad, but next time.
Turns out the problem was that this car had the wrong fuel filter in it and a host of other issues. The previous owner didn't know shit about cars. I got to fix what he did wrong and fix the older parts. |
