OK, I'll ask. 68 people read this and no one posted. So what is an AAV?

AAV= Auxiliary Air Valve.
It is an air valve that opens for a cold start and gradually closes over 5min during warm up.

New, they have become very expensive.

When I looked into this a while ago, the AAV for a 924 was quite expensive.

I'd suggest going for a cheaper AAV from another car (pick which one you want, as long as it's compatible with your hoses and connector). The differences will be related to engine size, so the closer to a 2 litre engine the better the fit will be.

An AAV from a smaller engine will have a smaller hole. Just drill it out a bit so its the same size as your current one and you'll save yourself a lot of money.

What's wrong with yours?
Or, are you missing one?

They usually fail due to crud buildup in the rotary valve end, which is easily cleaned with a can of spray carb/choke cleaner.
