|
Wanted to formally introduce myself and my project to the board. The below pics are of my newest project: 1977 924 Porsche Martini and Rossi Edition. This car seems to be all original throughout. The car does run although not to well, seem's to have a small fuel leak by the fuel accumulators. I have only had the car for a couple of weeks so far. Here is what I have finished so far.
Spark Plug Wires
Distributor
Oil filter/ oil Change
Coolant Flush
Transmission Fluid changed
Air Filter Changed
Vacuum Air filter Changed
Next up:
OEM muffler
2x Fuel Accumulators
4x New Tires (dry rot from sitting)
timing belt change
and lots and lots more |

From another Martini owner congratulations on your new project! The car looks very good, especially the interior, it looks almost brand new. Good luck with your restoration. Oh, and BTW if that red car in the pictures is yours as well I hope you've bought the 924 for the sheer beauty of the car because you might be a little disappointed with the stock 95hp . With all joking aside enjoy a great car. _________________ 1981 931 |

Yes that "other red car" is also mine! It has a couple more horses then the Porsche
My first sports car as a kid was a 1978 924 Porsche. I decided that once I make a little money I would recapture my youth a bit. So here it goes...
The battery box is completely rusted out. So that needs attention ASAP. Carpets are in great shape, seats are to (except drivers outside bolster)
Dash of course needs to be replaced. Good news is that the body is straight and nearly zero rust. What rust there is appeared to be surface only!
I am looking for some NOS floor mats. Any ideas? Hard to find for a martini car. Thanks guys |

I'm gonna go with 77.5 because IIRC the martini was a 1/2 year car. Not sure they made a special manual for it though because it was an "appearance only" option...???
Either way, good luck with the resto. Excellent choice. |

| Yeah I didn't think their was a specific owners manual. Just not sure of the year/ half year issue. Thanks! |

We have a little more in common than just having Martinis then, my first Porsche was a metallic grey '78 (the special edition that really isn‘t recognized as one).
And you’re correct in thinking '771/2 on the owners manual. I'm pretty sure my manuals are original (the maintenance manual has the original owners name in it) and the owners manual is a '771/2. _________________ 1981 931 |

Hello from another Martini owner in UK. Purchased my one family owned car a couple of months back, unused since 1999 and kept in a small collection by previous owner. In the process of recommissioning all of the braking system, also need to replace fuel accumulators and then see if engine performs.
Very few of the early cars survive in UK now, first introduced early '77 here. |

Good luck on restoring your car to proper working order. I have been working on a host of small issues, and have been making slow and steady progress. I hope to have a fully restored car within the next 12 months. I think the repaint is going to take a good amount of time. 2 months or more?
Anybody got a good source for the Euro headlight upgrade? Does the require a updated fuse relay?
