944s don't have vented nose panels, vented hoods, shorty rear spoilers, or those nice dished rockers So when you see it side by side, it most definitely looks different than a 944.
And watch what you say about the interior...you haven't seen it yet. As I said, full reveal to follow shortly
The bumper came that way with the car. It doesn't bother me enough to warrant the effort and expense to change over a Euro bumper. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Yep, no worries...
...but wait til you see the interior...replaced the dash with a newly recovered one, replaced the door cards, the rear quarter liners, installed power 944 sport seats, and of course, the dual gauge pod in the center speaker location. You really gotta see the interior _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Patience, young grasshopper, patience!
This week I should be able to wrap things up. Need to install the wiring for the new oil temp gauge and re-route the oil pressure wiring for the center dual gauge pod. Also need to pull the door cards so I can install the freshly painted 968 door handles and mirrors. Those are the last major things left to complete. As soon as their done, I'll post up all the pix.
I still need to finish the power steering install, have made some progress on that, but it's perfectly drivable in manual mode, and I fully intend to drive this car a LOT this warm season so the power steering completion may get pushed back to winter, we'll see. Also still planning to install an in-cabin boost controller _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I encountered an unexpected delay attempting to install the 968 door handles. This is the only thing holding up the completion of the exterior restoration. So in the meantime, thought I'd share some quick snaps of the interior restoration. Man, what a difference!
BEFORE
AFTER...
NEW DASH
COCKPIT CONTROLS
CREATURE COMFORTS
Late 944 inner door levers, Porsche crest glove box latch
4-way power 944 script sport seats, center armrest/iPod stowage
Late 944 sun visors with vanity mirrors, Porsche script floor mats
SOUND SYSTEM
Pioneer DEM-P4100UB head unit, Kicker 1" tweeters with passive crossovers
Pioneer 4x6 speakers (set of 4, two in the doors, two in the rear; forgive the Blaupunkt speaker covers, they'll have to do for now)
Bazooka Active Bass Tube mounted to rear fold-down
Fully integrated iPod support with armrest stowage, amplified antenna
More shots of Classic 9 Leathershop's expert work prior to installation:

Looks great Dan! But how about changing that rubber gear lever boot into leather one? _________________ Mikko

I have a custom short shifter, the leather boots won't work as there's nothing to secure it to top side, and they're all too long.

For the most part, yes, although your early door cards may require a very slight bit of trimming...when you pull the door handle open, the round circular part of it goes into the door card cavity, and will interfere with the door card a little unless you trim it. No big deal...otherwise, pretty much direct bolt-on. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
