I was watching this show on speed the other day called Kit.
Decided to look on ebay and found the GT1 Replica porsche carrera GT.
They make the kit for a fiero , but also make reference to the porsche boxster as well. I was thinking this would be a great project for my ex race car. I am thinking a hayabusa engine for the power plant to round out the project. The kit is really an amazing value! You get everything. Hood, doors, front rear clip, dash, console. removable roof, rear clip with door openings. Even has headlight and light light covers to match. And it all only weighs 600 lbs.

Thats nice . and a nice vid pros and cons. hhmm Youd
have a real looker where ever you go.. though when you hit the gas
like a sour note a musician makes every once in while.. and it would alwasy be there ... so youd have to turbo it. another pro is the weight its really light. Id say its a good find. _________________ 2003 Toyota Tacoma deluxe cab/ TRD package.

Seems like a LS1 conversion would get the motivation closer to the real thing (not to take anything away from the Hayabusa, but unless it is the V8 version, it just wouldn't be right in my mind)
Heck, the Boxster uses an Audi derivative transaxle, why not use an Audi V8 and transaxle? Should make the swap a little easier in some ways. _________________ Stefan

| There is a video clip online with a twin turbocharged Viper that trashs a Hayabusa. The viper just runs away from it multiple times. |

Hey Joe, it is all about power to weight ratio. The Hayabusa (and other sport bikes) have a crazy power to weight ratio when compared to a car.
The Audi V8 is pretty compact for a DOHC V8 motor. If it fits in the back of a Lotus Esprit, then it should fit where the V10 is supposed to fit in a Carrera GT.

As for the Hayabusa V8, there are a couple of companies that take the head off the 4-cylinder bike motor and use two of them on a custom made V8 block.
Here's a local example:

4-500hp from a very compact package is impressive without adding forced induction. _________________ Stefan

In reality I am not looking for huge power. The car would be light enough that 175hp would make it very fun.
I have a 340 + hp car. It is great to have the power , but once your up to speed in 5 seconds...what do you do but get tickets.
I won't be taking on any big projects until I am done university in 2015 _________________ 1976 924
