I have no hole in my head!
I am in the middle of a rebuild. Head has yet to be tanked, etc.
Suggestions?
The heater hose solution scares me a little. Its very tempting though.

I have just started work to remove the engine from my 937.
The cylinder head is identical to McGyver's with the number 931 104 301 3.
The 924PETCatalog lists the 937 as having a different head - 931 104 901 02.
Have I got the wrong head on my car?
Hope not, I understand it was a specific head for the 937 only... |

Hi All
I have been studying cylinder heads in the past few weeks.
On the inlet side, to the rear of my head is a ciircle with a number cast into it. I believe this is the year of casting. Further, on my car, one quarter of the circle around the number has three dots in the casting which I am guessing indicates the month of casting. This may help ID the age of head against the car or against timing of introduction of breather hole.
I don't know how to post photos to the board, otherwise would do so.
Cheers!

I wouldn't be overly concerned about the part number. It's probably the casting number for the head itself and not the actual part number. There are several examples where the PET numbers do not appear on the part. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
