Bore isn't the problem, it's bore spacing, the 924 has 95mm between bore centres. The bore of the 924 is something like 86.5mm. Ford Duratecs are about 95.5mm... _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

The SRT-4/PT Cruiser turbo heads use the same bore center and bolt pattern as the older 2.2/2.5 SOHC/DOHC (Lotus and Maserati/Cosworth made production DOHC heads for the 2.2L Chrysler 4's) and the 2.0L SOHC 16-valve and DOHC 16-valve motors.
The Neon is a continuation of the development that Chrysler started with the older 2.2 motors and quite a few parts are similar between the generations.
I'm machining the injector pockets on a 924 head to fit my Bosch injectors lower into the pocket and I've already test fit a stock 2.2 turbo fuel rail. Just need to fab up brackets to hold it in place.
Keep in mind, I checked already and the cylinder head mounting bolts are spaced all wrong for use on a 924. I had a 924 head-gasket and a 2.2 head gasket laid on top of each other. I don't know of an easy way around that off-hand. _________________ Stefan

Isn't there a method where the stud holes in the block can either be filled with an epoxy resin or welded up, and then new holes drilled & tapped?
I would think the bigger problem would be aligning water passages. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

We had an old MG XPAG race motor that had been overbored so far (wet liners) and had so much compression that it was impossible to keep a head gasket in it. Water galleries were welded up on both black and head and a water pipe was run from the welsh plugs in the block into the head.
Big job, lot of money, very hard to get it right

Yeah, to put the neon head on the older block, you have to plug off some of the oil and water passages and replace them with external lines. _________________ Stefan

here I've found Dodge SRT4 Cylinder head picture.
And our block picture to compare
I am not pretty sure, but on one of the forums I've found that Nissan SR engines have 97mm bore spacing. |

Any ideas how to overcome those head bolt holes? Those obviously don't align. _________________ "Rule: Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun." (C. Bell)
