|
|
Hi all,
My fuel pump relay is dead, so I am looking for a replacement. I have an extra from a 78 NA, but it doesn't work - just clicks like crazy when I crank the engine but doesn't activate the pump.
This is the one that has been in the car during my ownership (#321 906 059 C)
But looking in the parts section on 924.org it says
1979-82: relay# 433 906 059
Which is the correct/original relay? Will either work? Are there cheaper alternatives? I have to order overseas, so I want to get it correct the first time.
Thanks,

Theres 2 different types of relay used in the NA and they are NOT interchangeable, although they appear similar. Early cars, 76-78, have a safety switch on the AFM (blue plug) inputting to the relay. Later, around 79 on, relays use a connection to the coil to cut fuel with no ignition pulses.
Consult the PET for the correct part # and/or order from a reputable Euro or VW supplier such as Autohauz AZ, not some generic lucky dip part from NAPA or Rock. |
