Caveat: This is not my technique, I simply borrowed what's been mentioned before. Figured it was worth documenting with a couple of pics.
1. Beat the rubber bushes out.
2. You're left with the pressed steel inserts
3. Place hacksaw blade through the hole and very carefully cut down the length of the insert. Try not to damage the Al! Then cut a slot along the face of the insert, in line with the slot you cut lengthways down the insert.
4. Give the insert a good hard jab with a punch or similar - you don't need to fold the insert completely. A few mm's will give you enough room that they slide out.
5. Time to clean up the mounting hole now, and then get the new bushes in - once you have some that is... stay tuned!
