Interesting that they say the gasket is not reusable:

Since there is some evidence to suggest otherwise. Though most say that it is not advisable to do so and it is all from third parties on the "internets"

I think the key to making them work is ensuring the sealing surfaces have the proper finish to them.

is that because they want more group buys from us?

I've never heard of a reusable head gasket myself before -- why would you expect this high performance one to be different?

Of course they wont be sold as "reusable" but thats not to say that they arent reusable....ive heard of many incidents of people reusing headgaskets with no problems....although not a preferred method

No big deal. . .agreed. Clearly you could cut off all four after the gasket is in place.

I am still interested to hear what they say, though.

I confirmed with Cometic today that the "rivet tabs" can be bent down, ground down, or cut off, no worries. In the meantime, they are going to update the drawing to move the tabs outward by about an inch for future runs.

Looks like Horsepower Freaks are now stocking this item:
http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/performanceparts/Porsche/924/Engine/Head_Gaskets

$118.24 retail price. Guess we did OK on the group buy, eh?

{EDIT}
Also now listed as available on the Cometic website, part number C4542-050 for $121.21
