Well Guy's,

Following on from my first post about my new build, which went off on a tangent re colours, and IC932's comment about this being a rebirth, not a birth, i thought i would show you the progress thus far. As you can see, the shell has been acid dipped, and is in fantastic condition.
The seam welding has started, as has the cage install. There is stil a lot of cage to go in before she goes on the flip rig, so all the cutting & welding can be finished. This is so the shell is sufficiently strengthened before being turned over, as she may twist if this is done too early.

Lovely seam welding work by someone. Keep us posted on progress. And what colour did you decide on? Your original orange looked great.
Cheers PLD

Hi Peter,

yeah, these guys are real "craftsmen". Great to see such people still exist.
Re the colour, i'm actually thinking of sticking with the Orange, or failing that, she will be pure white, with black vinyl accents.

I would stick with the orange, the car looked great before!

But I would do the interior in a white!

Joe,

No, this is a new, non sunroof 1985 N/A shell. The orange car is at the same place, as the vast majority of parts will be transfered over.
The car was dipped in an industrial acid dipping process, which while more expensive than normal media blasting, has several advantages.
