I'm not going to verify or endorse this. Draw your own conclusions.

Happy knuckle busting !

Machinist's Workshop magazine actually tested penetrants for break out torque on rusted nuts. Significant results! They are below, as forwarded by an ex-student and professional machinist, Bud Baker.

They arranged a subjective test of all the popular penetrants with the control being the torque required to remove the nut from a "scientifically rusted" environment.
>> *Penetrating oil ..... Average load*
>> None ..................... 516 pounds
>> WD-40 .................. 238 pounds
>> PB Blaster ............. 214 pounds
>> Liquid Wrench ..... 127 pounds
>> Kano Kroil ............ 106 pounds
>> ATF-Acetone mix....53 pounds
>>
>> The ATF-Acetone mix was a "home brew" mix of 50 - 50 automatic transmission fluid and acetone. Note the "home brew" was better than any commercial product in this one particular test. Our local machinist group mixed up a batch
>> and we all now use it with equally good results. Note also that "Liquid Wrench" is about as good as "Kroil" for about 20% of the price.

Used ATF on its own once and was surprised how good it worked.

Likewise, but I might try the Acetone/ATF for the fun of it.

Hmmm... No comment on the effectiveness of foul language?

I'm gonna mix up some ATF and acetone!

It's another mix thing. . .you have to use bad language/shitty looks. Also tools have more torque after throwing them on the ground a couple of times and getting just a bit of blood on them.

I am working on a battery holddown nut right now maybe i will try some atf.
Heet is the best when you can use it without burning the whole car up.
Bad language usually results in broken studs.

Following up on the thread, diesel fuel oil was pointed out as being a very effective penetrating oil as well...

I used them all . I got one for you! If you can get to the frozen nuts& bolts try dripping hot candle wax on it & it works as good if not better. Hard to belive but this is a old school trick. I am from Missouri the "show me state" & it showed me!

I like the Kroil, or Mouse Milk.

Since we have lots of it at work, and are forced to observe the expiration dates, I usually end up with some that I am forced to remove from the workplace. Drat...

I like banging on stuck fasteners with a BFH.

Percussive maintenance.

If it jams, bang on it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.
