I have a 1988 924S and am about to do a R12a recharge on the AC system. I've had good success with R12a on an 81 931 and 85 M5. Cheap and easy.

I searched forums and couldn't find this answer. I need to locate the "low side a/c service port" for the recharge. I'm not sure where that is. I found a couple schraeder type valves, one right on the AC resevoir and one on the firewall, behind the cylinder head. Not sure which is my low side. My Hanes manual is for 944 and is very vague when it comes to AC service so its not helpful.

Please & thanks!

Normally, one line is larger than the other. The low pressure one would be the larger, it's also cooler, and runs between the evaporator coil inside the car and the compressor in the engine compartment.
The high pressure line would be smaller, hotter, and run from the outlet of the compressor to the condenser coil thet's up front with the radiator.

Then to extrapolate that makes the line/valve on the firewall the low side while the line/valve in front of the resevoir (and leading to the condenser coil) is the high side. I need the low side access to make this recharge work.
